| Abstract |
Sections 1 and 2 of the Integration of Labour Laws Act, 1994, put into effect by Proclamation of the President of South Africa (No. R. 45), integrate the Machinery and Occupational Safety Acts of the former Republics of Transkei (1985), Venda (1987), and Ciskei (1984) and of the former Self-Governing Territories of Kwazulu (1985) and Qwaqwa (1992), as well as the Occupational Safety Act, 1984 of the former Republic of Bophuthatswana into effective laws of the Republic of South Africa in those areas where these former Republics and Territories used to exist. The Regulations (No. R.639), dated 28 Apr. 1995, enable Labour Inspectors of these former Republics and Territories to keep their functions and provide for continuity in the application of OSH laws on their territories. |
