Abstract A systematic summary of publications and documentation regarding work environment factors and the state of workers' health in the Danish printing industry. In this sector there are 56,000 employees, which corresponds to 2.1% of the active working population. The main harmful factors and health problems are: strain injuries, noise and organic solvents (brain damage). This sector is also characterized by accidents, but the incidence of reported accidents is lower than the average for all industries.
