Title Some applications of the sound intensity technique to noise control in the workplace
Bibliographic information 1996, Vol.2, No.1, p.1-15. Illus. 16 ref.
Abstract The theory of the sound intensity technique is outlined and its capabilities and limitations are highlighted. Four case studies are given to illustrate how the technique can be applied to determine sound power under both laboratory and field conditions, to identify noise sources, and to measure sound transmission loss of composite partitions. With improvements in hardware and software, sound intensity measurements will be more extensively used for noise control in the workplace.
