Abstract Using three case studies as examples, the director of a major insurance carrier's employee health service shares his perspective on the importance of the early identification of potential exposures, screening for tuberculosis, and communicating to employees. The director emphasizes that "an appropriate level of vigilance" can prevent or minimize a significant number of workplace exposures.
