||Current efforts at and obstacles to forging a link between public health and occupational health in the control of tuberculosis in the USA are discussed. The historical roots of TB in the workplace as well as the current crisis that has resulted from the emergence of both the AIDS and tuberculosis epidemics are traced and the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) guidelines which embody a comprehensive approach to TB control are detailed.
