||This brief communication describes a case of accidental ingestion of Helicobacter pylori in the laboratory. Symptoms included severe epigastric cramp, nausea and epigastric fullness, followed by heartburn, nausea and upper abdominal pain. The patient was successfully treated; immunological response developed three months after treatment, and was weak. The case provides some insight into the clinical course of H pylori infection.
