Title Musculoskeletal symptoms among electricians
Bibliographic information Feb. 1994, Vol.25, No.2, p.149-163. Illus. 24 ref.
Abstract A questionnaire survey was carried out among 308 apprentice electricians to assess the prevalence of musculoskeletal symptoms. Low back pain was common among these workers and resulted in medical care, missed work or light duty for almost 35% of participants. Hand/wrist symptoms and neck discomfort were also common. These workers continued to work with symptoms that are classifiable as cumulative trauma disorders. A history of injury was correlated with the subsequent prevalence of musculoskeletal symptoms.
