Abstract No data are available on the effects of 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane (HFC 134a) in humans. Animal studies provide no indication that the substance presents any serious health implications under occupational exposure conditions; in most studies there has been a clear no observed effect level of 10,000ppm. Proposed occupational exposure standard: 1000ppm (8-hour TWA).
