Abstract Very little information is available on the human health effects of dimethylcarbamoyl chloride and no conclusions can be drawn from the few studies reported. Animal studies indicate that the substance may be absorbed through the skin and causes irritation of the skin, eyes and respiratory tract. Findings of carcinogenicity and mutagenicity in animals are predicted to be relevant to human health.
