Title β2-Microglobulin in agricultural workers exposed to organophosphorus compounds
Bibliographic information Winter 1993, Vol.17, No.1, p.21-23. 4 ref.
Abstract Twenty agricultural workers in Egypt were investigated for the effects of organophosphorus insecticides on kidney function by estimation of serum-β2-microglobulin. There was a significant increase in the level of serum-β2-microglobulin compared to the control group; serum creatinine levels were within the normal range. The use of serum-β2-microglobulin was thus found to be a more sensitive test for detecting moderate changes of glomerular filtration rate than serum creatinine.
