Abstract The hazards (allergies, infections) due to bioaerosols in the workplace are surveyed. In the food and beverage industry the principal sources of bioaerosols are meat (leptospirosis, brucellosis), grains and other vegetable matter (endotoxins, moulds), and ventilation systems (bacteria). A table summarizes the information on the main types of bioaerosols that may be present in indoor industrial environments.
