Title Acoustic trauma by high-level impulse noise. Evolutive non linear occupational pathology
Original title A propos des traumatismes sonores par les bruits impulsionnels de forte intensitÚ. Pathologie professionnelle Úvolutive Ó progression non linÚaire [in French]

Abstract According to this technical note on acoustic trauma due to high-energy impulse noise, there is much interindividual variation in susceptibility to impulse-noise induced hearing loss. The new quantity E0 is proposed as a measure of the daily tolerable noise dose for a given individual, and it is suggested that the number of high-energy impulse noise events per day be related on an inverse exponential scale to E0.
