Title A study of occupational dermatoses in the electronics industry
Bibliographic information Jan. 1993, Vol.5, No.1, p.v-x, 1-76. Illus. 130 ref.
Abstract This thesis presents the results of a literature survey on dermatological hazards in the electronics industry along with a questionnaire survey of workers in two electronics factories in the United Kingdom and Singapore. Work-related skin disorders were common: 94 (33%) of the UK workers and 482 (19%) of the Singapore workers had at least one previous episode of a work-related skin disorder. The majority of disorders were due to trauma of the skin (burn scars, abrasions) while cases of irritant or allergic contact dermatitis were infrequent. There was an increasing trend in the prevalence of acne.
