Title Workplace welfare in the electroplating industry

Abstract This data sheet gives guidance on compliance with the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 (see CIS 93-351). Some common problems occurring in electroplating shops are highlighted (wet floors, inadequate ventilation and lighting, dirty toilets and washing facilities, dirty walls, floors and surfaces, temperature too low or too high) along with associated hazards, causes and suggested remedies. Under the new Regulations, adequate rest areas and welfare facilities are required.
