Title The Noise at Work Regulations 1989 and their insurance implications
Bibliographic information The Loss Prevention Council, 140 Aldersgate Street, London EC1A 4HY, United Kingdom, Apr. 1991. 6p. 12 ref.
Abstract This circular describes the background to the British Noise at Work Regulations 1989 (see CIS 90-21) and outlines the duties imposed by them on employers, employees and makers and suppliers of equipment. New requirements for noise exposure measurement, hearing monitoring, engineering controls, personal protection, etc., may lead to extra costs for employers. Increasing awareness of the problems caused by excess workplace noise combined with the lowering of noise exposure action levels could result in an increase in insurance claims.
