Title Risk assessment for installations where liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) is stored in bulk vessels above ground
Bibliographic information 1988, Vol.20, p.357-374. Illus. 15 ref.
Abstract Methods of Quantified Risk Assessment (QRA) are described which will be used by the Health and Safety Executive for the risk assessment of installations where LPG is stored in bulk vessels above ground. Models are used to calculate the consequences of potential accidents involving fireballs, flash fires, vapour cloud explosions and jet flames. Levels of thermal radiation, blast overpressure and individual risk are calculated. If the population distribution around the installation is included, levels of societal risk can also be calculated.
