Abstract This book deals with Canadian federal and provincial legislation as it relates to tobacco smoking. Information is also provided on the history, production, taxation, advertising, toxicology, and health effects of tobacco as well as the addictive nature of nicotine. Various theories as to why people smoke are discussed. Chapter six covers smoking in the workplace and how the law relates to this issue.
