Title A perspective on structured expert judgment
Bibliographic information Feb. 1992, Vol.29, No.3, p.365-385. 65 ref.
Abstract The appropriate use of expert judgment as a data source for the quantitative phase of risk analysis requires a structured approach and the development and introduction of specialised methodological tools. The state of the art of the use of expert judgment, in particular in risk analysis, is reviewed. The key characteristics which underline the need for a structured approach are discussed, along with the procedures which may be used in applying structured expert judgment. Practical experiences of the use of expert judgment are described along with an outline of the lessons learned and unresolved issues requiring further attention.
