Abstract Article 15 of the Decree of 2 October 1986 (see CIS 87-50) relating to the protection of workers against the dangers of ionising radiation requires the employer to supply specific information to the labour inspector. The circular of 30 Oct. 1990 provides details on the contents of this information. In the case of an electrical X-ray generator or a natural radioactive substance this information should include the characteristics of the source and the preventive measures to be adopted. In the case of man-made radioactive substances, the employer must give the labour inspector full details about his licence to use or manufacture them. The circular also lays the procedure to be followed when an employer stops using ionising radiation. Appendix: specific licensing conditions for sealed sources.
