Title Effects of combined exposure to pyrethroids and methamidophos on sprayers
Bibliographic information Mar. 1990, Vol.2, No.1, p.31-36. 9 ref.
Abstract Effects of exposure to pyrethroids combined with methamidophos were studied on 524 sprayers and compared with the effects on 1480 farmers spraying only pyrethroids. The results showed neither significant difference in the prevalence of adverse effects of acute intoxication between the two groups, nor inhibition of blood cholinesterase with sprayers with combined exposure. However, there was a tendency towards the increase of urinary deltamethrin or fenvalerate in the combined exposed groups without an increase of deltamethrin metabolite Br2A in the urine. This might indicate an inhibitory effect of organophosphate in the metabolism of pyrethroids in man which is similar to that found in animals.
