Bibliographic information World Health Organization, Distribution and Sales Service, 1211 Genève 27, Switzerland, 1990. 96p. Illus. 15 ref. Price: CHF 13.00.
Abstract This IPCS report describes criteria for the selection of an appropriate short-term in vivo test to determine the in vivo activity of established genotoxins and the selection of 4 test chemicals, the assays used, and the results of tests carried out on the selected chemicals. An assessment is made of the performance of the assays along with a selection of those considered to be most effective. Short-term in vivo tests have a vital role to play in the identification of those chemicals most likely to present a carcinogenic/mutagenic hazard. Detailed summaries in French and Spanish.
