Bibliographic information Aug. 1990, No.094, p.19-24. Illus.
Abstract Report of a fire which started when spilled oil was ignited by maintenance work involving flame cutting and which spread to destroy a large proportion of the terminal facilities. Significant aspects of the incident include: fire propagation between diked areas; overpressure failures of fixed roof tanks exposed to external fire; overpressure protection of fixed roof tanks; boilover-type eruption in a burning fuel oil tank; potential for escalation of a floating roof tank seal fire; firefighting techniques for major ground fires.
