Title Chemical hazards at electroplating processes

Abstract The plating and metal finishing industry uses a wide range of chemical substances many of which are recognised health hazards because of their toxic or corrosive nature. This report looks at a range of processes within the industry, highlights the potential problems in each case and recommends how they may be controlled. Examples are given of known incidents caused by failure to apply appropriate precautions.
