| Abstract |
The influence of hearing aids on the speech intelligibility threshold (i.e. the sound pressure level required to understand 50% of spoken words) without background noise and on the required signal-to-noise ratio was studied on 199 men and 93 women aged 40 to 85 years. It was found that hearing aids improved speech intelligibility but had no influence on the signal-to-noise ratio. |
