Abstract Conclusions reached by this study on the ecological effects of DDT: DDT is highly toxic to aquatic microorganisms and aquatic invertebrates, fish, amphibians, birds and some mammals such as bats. This DDT and its metabolites should be regarded as a major environmental hazard.
