Title Development of protective gloves - A new mitten for wood-cutters
Original title Utveckling av skyddshandskar - Ny handske för huggare [in Swedish]
Bibliographic information Kungl. Tekniska Högskolan, 100 44 Stockholm, Sweden, June 1984. 14p. Illus.
Abstract Description of a new type of mitten for wood-cutters which has been developed in Sweden. The mittens are completely waterproof, but also allow the hands to "breathe", enabling some of the moisture from the hand to escape through the dorsal side of the mitten. The new properties are the result of combining a new type of GORE-TEX laminate with existing mittens. Since they keep hands comparatively dry, a reduction in skin complaints is likely among those having a history of cracked or chafed skin. The expected life of the mittens is at least two months and they can be washed without shrinking or losing their shape.
