| Abstract |
Among various noise abating measures, an acoustic enclosure of the belt drive with silencers close to the bottom was chosen for reducing the noise of a bucket wheel excavator with a daily output of 240,000m3 in an opencast mine. Estimates yielded a noise reduction by 17dB(A). Measurements using a sound source comparable to the belt drive in loudness revealed a decrease of the noise level outside the enclosure by 12dB(A). |
