Title A preliminary investigation of bus cab design for Cantonese drivers
Bibliographic information Dec. 1987, Vol.16, No.2, p.163-171. Illus. 10 ref.
Abstract Using static data and manikins, a bus cab was designed to suit the anthropometric characteristics of Hong-Kong bus drivers. In addition to overall body dimensions, the relationships between pedals, steering wheel, and seat were determined and the range of seat adjustment was specified. This "recommended" cab design was compared to some of the cabs in current use in Hong Kong and none of them satisfied all the "recommended" design specifications; the most serious deviation was the excessive height of the seat above the floor and pedals, and insufficient lateral separation between the pedals.
