Title Emissions from the evaporative casting process
Bibliographic information Jan. 1988, Vol.3, No.1, p.11-17. Illus. 8 ref.
Abstract The emissions generated during the pouring, cooling, and shakeout of a water-pump casting made by the evaporative casting process (ECP) were compared with those from a conventional green sand process. The ECP moulds produced more soot, hydrocarbons (styrene, benzene, toluene, and ethylbenzene) and polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons than the green sand process. Benzene was a major hazard.
