Abstract This Workplace Environmental Exposure Level Guide (WEEL) presents the available toxicological data and recommends appropriate exposure limits for industrial chemicals for which no standards have been developed. Synonym: benzoic aldehyde. Direct food additive. Benzaldehyde vapour is an irritant to the eyes and the upper respiratory tract. May be a weak sensitiser via skin contact. Recommended exposure limits: 8h TWA limit = 8.7mg/m3; 15min TWA limit = 17.4mg/m3.
