Title Outbreak of legionnaires' disease from a cooling water system in a power station
Bibliographic information Sep. 1986, Vol.43, No.9, p.630-635. Illus. 14 ref.
Abstract Report on an outbreak of legionnaires' disease among workers in a power station under construction (6 cases of pneumonia, 10 out of a sample of 92 men having antibodies to Legionella pneumophila). The infection seems to have been due to the airborne spread of organisms from the water systems of cooling towers at the site. No cases of legionella infection have occurred on the site since the introduction of control measures (cleaning and treatment of the cooling towers).
