Title Styrene exposure in the reinforced plastics industry in Ontario
Bibliographic information Winter 1986, Vol.7, No.1, p.38-55. 19 ref.
Abstract Of a total of 628 employees working in 10 Ontario plants, up to 130 were exposed to styrene. Exposure during boat fabrication was much greater than for other processes. The geometric means of samples obtained from plants in the marine sector ranged from 76 to 123 ppm, and up to 151 ppm in the other sectors. The use of respiratory protective equipment was minimal. The sources of styrene exposure and the effectiveness of control measures throughout the industry are discussed.
