||The acute lethal dose of this pesticide for man is estimated to be between 25-50mg/kg of body weight. No adverse effects have been reported in occupationally exposed workers and epidemiological data are insufficient to judge the potential carcinogenicity of chlordane to man. It induces hepatocellular carcinoma in mice. Other aspects covered: identity properties, sampling and analytical methods; distribution in the environment; levels of exposure; toxicology; evaluation of health risks for man and the environment.
