Abstract |
Brief comments by a number of lawyers on the consequences of the recent murder conviction of 3 managers who allowed an employee to be exposed to fatal levels of cyanide. The case has certain parallels with the Minamata incident in Japan: in the 1970s, managers of a Japanese vinyl chloride plant were convicted of manslaughter for polluting local waters with mercury compounds that poisoned many people. |
