Abstract This revised directive (effective 1 Mar. 1983) lays down the method of calculation of the fresh-air volume required when products containing organic solvents are used, and specifies the warnings to be included in the labels on the products packing containers. Detailed commentary. Appended are a definition of the corrected air volume required for occupational health reasons, the procedure to be followed for choosing the correct warning sentence (with examples), an example for calculation the air volume required for a two-component product, a list of >100 substances with their evaporation rates, and an excerpt from the Norwegian regulations on the marking of substances harmful to health.
