Title Relation between the iodine azide test and the TTCA test for exposure to carbon disulphide
Bibliographic information Aug. 1984, Vol.41, No.3, p.412-416. Illus. 14 ref.
Abstract Description of a method of carbon disulfide exposure evaluation that uses quantification of 2-thiothiazolidine-4-carboxylic acid (TTCA) in urine. This method is to be preferred to the method using the iodine azide test, which can give false positive results and whose readings have a strong subjective component. TTCA concentration increases in urine during workshift hours in a viscose plant were found to correlate well with carbon disulfide exposure levels. This correlation was especially good if urine samples with creatinine concentrations below 1mg/mL and above 3mg/mL were disregarded.
