Title A mortality study of cement workers
Bibliographic information May 1984, Vol.41, No.2, p.179-182. 10 ref.
Abstract A mortality study of 607 men who were cement workers in 1939 and were still alive in 1948. 419 of them died by 31 Dec. 1981, showing a death rate slightly below the expected. Significant excess deaths were found for stomach cancer (22 cases). This excess mortality is significant even if social class is taken into consideration. Mortality from respiratory diseases was not increased, while mortality from ischaemic heart disease was significantly lower than expected.
