Title Occupational exposure to hexachlorocyclohexane. VI. Metabolism of γ-hexachlorocyclohexane in man
Bibliographic information 1983, Vol. 52, No.1, p.59-67. Illus. 27 ref.
Abstract 14 mono-, di-, tri- and tetrachlorophenols were identified in the urine of 21 workers producing γ-hexachlorocyclohexane (HCH), and 7 dihydroxychlorobenzenes of unknown configuration were detected. The main metabolites of γ-HCH, 2,4,6-, 2,3,5-, and 2,4,5-trichlorophenol, were excreted in nearly equal quantities. Determination of chlorophenols in the urine should be part of a biological monitoring programme in HCH-exposed workers.
