| Abstract |
This survey deals with the mortality rate of the male staff of these energy producing and distributing boards, with emphasis on deaths due to different kinds of cancer. The statistical analysis followed conventional epidemiologic methods. Its aim was to find out if this population could be considered as a random sample of the national population. Important differences were found, however, between expected rates of cancer deaths in the national population and among the staff. Differences were also found between sections of the boards. This raises difficulties in the definition of the control population during a survey on occupational cancers. |
