Original title K voprosu o vlijanii pylej ferritov na organizm i gigieničeskoe normirovanie ih soderžanija v vozduhe rabočej zony [in Russian]

Abstract Five chemically different ferrites showed weak pneumoconiotic effects and were toxic in chronic inhalation experiments with rats and mice. The ferrites altered protein and nucleic acid metabolism and liver function and produced morphological alterations in internal organs. The extent of the effects depended on the physico-chemical properties of the individual ferrites. Recommended MACs for dusts are: magnesium-manganese and manganese-zinc ferrites, 1mg/m3; nickel-zinc and nickel-copper ferrites, 2mg/m3; barium ferrites, 4mg/m3.
