Abstract To alert the members of a mine rescue team when the members live at scattered locations in a settlement, the radio centre of the settlement can be integrated into a special communication network. In the system described (block diagrams), a control panel is set up in the rescue team centre; this control panel is connected to a bell, a siren and an electronic signal generator. The signal generator sends a modulated AM signal to the radio centre. The carrier and modulation frequencies of the signal are selected to avoid interference with the normal traffic or programming handled by the centre. Special receivers in the residences of the rescue team members pick up the signal distributed by the radio centre and convert it to an audible tone.
