Title Delayed neurotoxicity of organophosphorus insecticides
Bibliographic information 15 Feb. 1982, Vol.29, No.2, p.49-56. Illus. 42 ref.
Abstract Organophosphorus compounds bring about characteristic delayed neurotoxicity in exposed animals. Nerve damage begins with ataxia of both feet several days after exposure. In severe cases the symptoms develop to flaccid paralysis and the affected animals often die from respiratory failure. Mipafox, leptophos, and cyanofenphos showed such delayed neurotoxicity. Hens are most suitable for these experiments.
