Abstract Uses, hazards (combustible solid; liable to spontaneous ignition. Sulfur dioxide is evolved on burning and hydrogen sulfide is evolved on contact with acids. These gases are highly toxic. The finely divided powder can form an explosive cloud in air. Strongly irritant to skin and tissue); precautions (storage, labelling; storage rooms should have non-combustible floors; no acids or oxidising agents in same storage room; no smoking or naked flames; spillage removal; protective clothes and goggles, dust mask); fire fighting; U.K. regulations; physical and chemical properties.
