Title Occupational intoxication and long-term persistence of phencyclidine (PCP) in law enforcement personnel
Bibliographic information 1981, Vol.18, No.9, p.1015-1020. 16 ref.
Abstract A glass capillary gas chromatographic nitrogen detector method specific for phencyclidine (PCP) and sensitive to levels >0.005-0.010ng/ml in blood and urine samples was used to confirm occupational intoxication of law enforcement personnel handling confiscated, illegal PCP preparations. Exposed personnel included police officers who had made raids and arrests involving PCP and laboratory staff handling confiscated material retained as evidence. PCP was also detected in blood and urine samples of a laboratory worker not occupationally exposed in the previous 6 months.
