Title Occupational hygiene problems in the production of ammonium sulfate
Original title Voprosy gigieny truda pri proizvodstve sul'fata ammonija [in Russian]
Bibliographic information Aug. 1980, No.8, p.66-67. 1 ref.
Abstract Ammonium sulfate production may be accompanied by the release of sulfuric acid, sulfur dioxide and ammonia vapour in the production units and dust from the finished product. The concentration of toxic substances in the workplace air does not exceed the threshold levels when the compounds are released separately. High-frequency noise is an additional harmful factor. Medical examination of exposed workers did not reveal abnormal sickness absenteeism nor health effects due to the specific action of the above-mentioned harmful factors.
