Abstract Study of the efficacy of these materials in on-the-job conditions. Protection a envisaged against the following hazards: heat (radiant, ambient), fire (fire-resistant fabrics, flameproofed fabrics, synoptic tables of flammability tests on 52 fabrics), molten metal splashes, chemicals (hermetically and semi-hermetically impermeable fabrics), dust, cold and bad weather. Review of French standards and regulations currently in force. Results of a survey carried out by the Association of French Industrialists on the legislation in 14 countries concerning the obligation to wear work clothing and protective clothing, and the choice and maintenance of this equipment.
