Abstract |
The skin condition caused by soluble oils (oil-in-water emulsions used to cool the metal workpiece during machining) is compared with eczema and contact dermatitis. Criteria are proposed on which to determine whether the dermatitis is due to irritation or allergic sensitisation. The evolution is discussed, together with measures designed to facilitate recovery (treatment, removal from the cause). |
