Title Hazards of exposure to low doses of ionising radiation
Original title Les risques causés par une exposition à de faibles doses de rayonnements ionisants. [in French]

Abstract The effects of low doses of ionising radiation on man can be studied only epidemiologically, and past results have been contradictory and inconvenient, since the doses are too low to be detectable. The hazard must be evaluated indirectly by extrapolation from the known effects of high doses. This requires a knowledge of the relations between dose and effect: hypotheses are formulated for different types of radiation in the form of linear or curvilinear relations.
