Title Doses in radiation accidents investigated by chromosome aberration analysis.
Bibliographic information National Radiological Protection Board, Harwell, Didcot, Oxon OS11 ORQ, United Kingdom, Feb. 1980. 22p. Price: £1.00.
Abstract 82 cytogenic examinations performed in 1979 are reviewed, bringing the total of this series up to 472. A brief description of each of the 1979 investigations, with physical and cytogenetic dose estimates is given. The 472 cases are divided into 4 exposure categories, and the types of aberrations found are analysed. The majority of cases originated in industrial radiography, in particular during theuse of iridium-192 for non-destructive testing. Acentric aberrations outnumbered dicentrics.
