Title Statistical study of the health effects of trichloroethylene in 188 workers exposed in the auto-screw machine industry
Original title Etude statistique de la pathologie professionnelle du trichloréthylène chez 188 travailleurs exposés dans l'industrie du décolletage. [in French]

Abstract MD thesis. A computerised, multidisciplinary study is reported. The effect of trichloroethylene was confirmed in unspecific subjective manifestations such as a state of intoxication or somnolence at the workplace, headache, insomnia, odour intolerance. In others - irritative cough, gastralgia, nausea and vomiting, vertigo, chest pressure, palpitation - the role of trichloroethylene was less clear. Objective signs found with some frequency were: trigeminal neuralgia, contact dermatitis, conjunctivitis, loss of visual acuity, and dyschromatopsia suggesting optic neuritis. A simplified form was established for an epidemiological study of workers most exposed to trichloroethylene.
